Service Description
Barista Skills — Intermediate Hook: Stop making coffee that works. Start making coffee that's right. Who it's for: Working baristas with some time on the bar who want to move from competent to genuinely good — and who are starting to be asked harder questions by their customers and their managers. What you'll do: Two days going deeper into every variable you touch. You'll learn how a coffee's variety, origin and processing shape what ends up in the cup, then work through dose, grind texture, water quality and shot time as an interlocking system rather than a set of dials to fiddle with. There's substantial work on drink construction and why the same espresso tastes different in different builds, on milk technique and latte art, and on the sensory side of extraction — learning to taste an espresso and know what to change. The days also cover workflow and efficiency under pressure, plus the service and basic business practices that separate a good barista from a useful one. Logistics Duration: 2 days — SCA minimum 14 hours including practical exam; Tuck Shop teaches 14–16 hours Level: Intermediate Prerequisites: none formally required. Introduction to Coffee and Barista Skills Foundation are recommended, and their content is assumed knowledge in both exams. Assessment: 35-question written exam, 37 minutes, 70% to pass, plus a 40-minute practical exam in three sections Certificate: SCA Barista Skills Intermediate Class size: up to 6 · Price: $1000
