Service Description
Introduction to Cupping (Workshop) Hook: Learn to taste properly, in a room where nobody is judging you. Who it's for: Anyone who has never cupped, or has cupped and felt lost. Baristas, café owners, and enthusiasts alike. Beginners are precisely the intended audience. What you'll do: Cupping is how the coffee industry evaluates coffee, and it looks intimidating from the outside — the slurping, the shorthand, the confidence. This workshop takes it apart. Through guided tastings you'll learn to separate fragrance from aroma, flavour from aftertaste, and to place acidity, sweetness and mouthfeel on a scale you can actually use. You'll practise the mechanics too: how to break a crust, how to handle a spoon, when to move along the table. By the end you'll have a vocabulary for what you're tasting and a method for recording it — and, just as usefully, a clearer sense of what you like. Logistics Duration: SCA minimum 3.5 hours; Tuck Shop teaches 4 hours Level: SCA workshop — not a Coffee Skills Program certificate course Prerequisites: none Assessment: none Certificate: SCA Intro to Cupping Workshop certificate of completion Class size: 8 · Price: $250
