Service Description

Sensory Skills — Intermediate Hook: From tasting well to testing rigorously. Who it's for: Anyone with cupping experience who wants to understand the science underneath it — and anyone who may need to run a cupping session or set up a sensory panel for their business. What you'll do: Two days across the physiology of taste and aroma, the main families of sensory test method and what each is good for, and the practical operation of a cupping session from sample preparation to closing discussion. You'll work extensively with the Coffee Taster's Flavor Wheel and the WCR Sensory Lexicon, building precision in how you name things. The course closes on implementation: what a sensory programme or panel requires, and how to build one that produces results you can actually rely on. Logistics Duration: 2 days — SCA minimum 14 hours including practical exam; Tuck Shop teaches 14–16 hours Level: Intermediate Prerequisites: none formally required. Introduction to Coffee, Sensory Skills Foundation and Green Coffee Foundation recommended. Assessment: 35-question written exam, 37 minutes, 70% to pass, plus a 60-minute practical exam Certificate: SCA Sensory Skills Intermediate Class size: up to 6 · Price: $950
