Service Description
Sensory Skills — Professional Hook: Sensory assessment as a business function, not a party trick. Who it's for: Quality managers, green buyers, roasters and lab staff whose judgements carry commercial weight. Sensory Skills Intermediate is a firm prerequisite. What you'll do: Three days preparing you for the managerial side of sensory work. You'll align your practice with industry standards and sensory science best practice, work through what it takes to implement sensory assessment inside a coffee business, and spend significant time identifying and evaluating quality in specialty green coffee. The core skill being built is repeatability: generating sensory measurements that are methodical, defensible and interpretable — measurements a colleague could reproduce and a supplier could be held to. Logistics Duration: 3 days — SCA minimum 21 hours; Tuck Shop teaches 21–24 hours Level: Professional Prerequisites: SCA Sensory Skills Intermediate (required). Roasting Intermediate and Green Coffee Intermediate highly recommended. Assessment: 40-question written exam, 42 minutes, 80% to pass, plus a practical exam Certificate: SCA Sensory Skills Professional Class size: up to 2 · Price: $1800
